About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Metro Detroit as the eldest of six children, so care work has always been part of my life.

That foundation led me to Spelman College and then DePaul University, where I studied Comparative Women's Studies and Women and Gender Studies with focuses on social justice and queer theory.

I've provided full-time care for families with premature newborns, twins, and sibling groups, and trained as a community doula. My education and experience come together in how I approach postpartum support and early childhood education—I believe every child deserves loving, thoughtful care within a supportive community. I create environments that honor children's rights, respect their voices and autonomy, and integrate them meaningfully into community life.

These days, I live on the eastside of Detroit with my wife, Maya, our three year old, Asa, and our middle aged cat, Kiki.

About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Women’s Studies with a focus on Social Justice from Spelman College and a Masters of Arts in Women and Gender Studies with an emphasis on Queer Theory from DePaul University. My education has equipped me with a deep understanding of social justice and the complexities of identity, which greatly inform my approach to childcare and postpartum care.

I began my career providing full-time care for families, including premature newborns, twins, and sibling groups, and later trained as a community doula. These experiences have strengthened my expertise in postpartum care and my commitment to supporting families holistically.

Rooted in a family tradition of care work, I believe every child deserves loving, thoughtful care within a supportive community. My background allows me to create environments that honor children’s rights and integrate them into community life, fostering spaces that respect their voices and autonomy.
